A good city to live in for public transportation in Southern CA. I use large print to help me see. So far the best city I could find that had the best public transportation believe it or not is Fullerton in Orange County. They have both an amtrak, metrolink, lots of major streets with busses. Also the fullerton college is only 2 blocks from the train station and the downtown area. The city has a nice downtown shopping and nightlife. Where else besides Claremont (which has good public transit within the city but not really outside of it) can I find as good amenities as Fullerton in SOCAL? Fullerton is easy to get everywhere like hollywood or Downtown LA. Is there a better place for someone that can not drive?, I wanna go to college, and be able to have reliable public transportation and even a social life to make some friends? Oh yeah and a city that is safer than LA? Is Fullerton my best bet? I currently live in Murrieta by Temecula in Riverside county. This is a bedroom community where it is a big city with few if any buses. Its a very suburban/residential city. I dont like it for me. My family lives here so it wouldnt be hard to come here and visit them from Fullerton. Anaheim was a second because there is a lot of buses near disney but it is too congested and would take forever to get around the city, Ive learned that you can live near a lot of buses but it does you no good if you live in a congested area, Thats why i want to live where the downtown area of Fullerton is because it is both bus friendly and walkable. Also it is close to some major cities and has less traffic than them. Any suggestions on other cities or is Fullerton really that awesome? Santa Monica gets heavy traffic and so does LA. Remember i need to be close to a college and want convience of super markets, shopping and freedom to commute both within and outside of a city. Pasadena and Long Beach were close but they dont have a metrolink or amtrak. The light rails are not as useful and quick as the trains. What about the city Glendale? I also thought about living alongside wilshire in LA cause their is a subway that runs along that street. Even around the Cal State LA area?... Read More »
